Stan’s NoTubes is seeking a motivated, creative and detail oriented design engineer with excellent communication skills to join our team in State College, Pennsylvania.
Summary
Stan’s NoTubes the foremost leader in tubeless technology for bicycles. Work within a core product development team to create innovative, high-performance products. This dynamic role will involve aspects of product research, design, development, DFM, testing, and quality control in carbon composite and alloy wheel systems, as well as related product.
Responsibilities
Design, develop, analyze and document innovative product designs which meet the cost, reliability, manufacturability, safety, and functional requirements
Creating drawings from solid models
Validation of development products
Create test plans and execute testing procedures
Design test fixtures and production tooling
Create and maintain technical literature
Create production work instructions as necessary
Serve as a technical resource to other departments as necessary
Effectively balance multiple projects, responsibilities, and tasks simultaneously
Work collaboratively with other engineering and product management team members to bring product to market on time and on budget
Essential Qualifications:
Knowledge of bicycle wheels, rims, hubs and experience assembling wheels
Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent education and experience
Minimum 2 years experience in the outdoor, automotive or aerospace industry preferred
Minimum 2 years 3D modeling experience, Solidworks preferred
Experience in manufacturing tolerances, GD&T, and fixturing
Excellent communication skills including technical writing and file organization
Demonstrated ability for creative problem solving
Self-motivated and able to work in a collaborative, dynamic environment
Preferred Qualifications:
Composite design and analysis education and/or experience
Non-linear FEA experience a plus
Project management experience a plus
Experience in communicating with overseas manufacturing
Data acquisition experience, including setup and validation
Valid passport
Fast or slow, love riding a bike
