Otter Products is currently recruiting for a Sr. Category Manager to lead our Active Lifestyle and Outdoor (ALO) product team in Fort Collins, CO! As the Sr. Category Manager, you will work closely with sales, marketing, engineering, and supply chain to define our long-term Outdoor product roadmap, help drive the business development, and work cross-functionally to ensure success with this relatively new category for Otter Products. You have a long history developing or managing products for the Outdoor industry.   • Own the definition of operational and strategic goals for the team, providing category insights and proposals to the business by analyzing market and consumer data.
  • Assume responsibility for the successful implementation of business plans in the Outdoor product category by ensuring all new launches of new products across each region meet launch expectations and timing with Sales; Functions as a central resource within the organization as products move through their lifecycle
  • Identify growth opportunities within the Outdoor category, leading innovation efforts and project planning with cross functional organizations/partners ensuring the delivery of products that offer unique benefits and superior value to Otter Products customers
  • Works closely with internal teams to successfully manage the product(s) roadmap(s) by defining optimal strategies with right pricing, timing, brand and features, tied to organization strategies, through analysis of sales trends, competitors, buying habits and planograms of products; Engages with external partners to ensure Outdoor product portfolio is maintained for optimal performance
  • Schedule and maintain a quarterly portfolio update and review process with sales stakeholders and/or external alliance partners to ensure Outdoor portfolio is meeting current and future expectations
  • Participate in and contribute as a product category owner in Product Management Reviews per the IBP process
  • Partner with the Marketing Team to develop marketing strategies and monitor the execution of that strategy; Train the Sales & Marketing team and evangelize new products to execute joint sell-in programs and increase revenue within our key channel partners
  • Serve as key point of contact for product-related communications with Sales
  • Support and maintain a positive safety culture by following all safety policies and procedures and actively contributing to a safe working environment
  • Other duties as required


  • Bachelor’s degree required. Degree in marketing, business or related field preferred. MBA or advanced degree preferred
  • Minimum 10 years of product management and/or product marketing experience including conceiving, developing and driving innovative products and portfolios required
  • Minimum 5 years working in the Outdoor product industry, with experience in portfolio planning, category management, and business development required
  • Previous experience managing P&L preferred
