The Key Accounts Sales Manager is the primary point of contact with select key accounts. Fostering relationships that create long-term partnership and mutual business success is paramount. This person will also lead the development of new account relationships for the purpose of maximizing revenue and brand distribution. T

he Key Accounts Sales Manager's primary responsibilities include the development and management of key wholesale accounts, including sales, training of staff, identifying growth opportunities, managing strategic oversight and building strong relationships. They will work with the internal marketing team by strategically contributing to all trade marketing development. They will provide leadership of trade show participation and strategy. They will provide market insight and share retailer feedback to the product pipeline planning process. They must be able to think strategically and see "big picture" while also operating at a tactical level to implement strategic decisions.  

The Key Accounts Sales Manager is familiar with our target markets and will look for opportunities to grow the business through increased sales activities and distribution.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop relationships with key account stakeholders
  • Develop and implement sales strategies to support long term business objectives.
  • Ensure sales strategies elevate the brand, are relevant to the customer, and are effective in driving consumer loyalty and profitable business growth.
  • Manage key accounts to drive growth opportunities regionally, nationally, and internationally.
  • Translate strategies into mid-range and short-term objectives and tactics for wholesale accounts. Establish metrics to track progress against these objectives and provide visibility and accountability to the team.
  • Identify potential new channels and develop strategies to pursue those opportunities.
  • Continuously manage accurate sales forecasting to achieve business results.
  • Partner with internal marketing team to develop and implement strategies and tools to drive retail sell through across all wholesale channels.
  • Work with internal marketing team to oversee planning and execution of all trade marketing events and materials and represent the brand at such events.
  • Capture product feedback from key accounts and contribute to product development pipeline with key market trend needs.
  • Contribute to the development of the sales department budget and manage adherence to the budget.
  • Execute timely follow-up on all requests made by assigned accounts.
  • Monitor and manage Swiftwick sales program within assigned trade channels
  • " Communicate new product introduction information (sell-in sheets/samples) and follow-up to assigned account base. 
  • Recruit, develop and retain a high-quality sales support team, as needed, that empowers the organization to meet its revenue goals.
  • Provide leadership to Account Representative and Sales Support Coordinator.
  • The above represents general responsibilities for the position. Other duties, responsibilities and qualifications may be assigned as defined by the executive management team supporting company goals and initiatives.
  • This position requires frequent travel up to 50% of the time.
  • This position may be remote. 

Requirements:

Hard Skills:

  • BA/BS in sales, marketing or business preferred
  • 5+ years previous experience in Account Management, Territory Sales or other relevant experience
  • Proven success in growing customer base in new and existing markets and channels
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects while paying strict attention to detail
  • Strong management skills, including the ability to identify, recruit, develop and align talent to exceed goals
  • Strong sales and training abilities
  • Strong account management and relationship building skills 
  • Experience with ERP software
  • PC proficient 

Soft Skills:

  • Highly self-motivated
  • A positive attitude 
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate, present and influence credibly and effectively at all levels of the organization
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong preference for, or experience with, a progressive, emerging brand in the running, cycling, or outdoor industry
