As our Associate Product Manager for our Jetboil brand, you will support Johnson Outdoors objectives through developing and executing product plans that successfully conceptualize and launch products to market in a timely and profitable manner.

What you will do:

§  Recommend new and innovative design approaches, new segments and new opportunities to obtain cost savings, increase efficiencies/effectiveness and improve product performance of existing products.

§  Assist in developing product line plans based on defined marketing strategies and objectives.

§  Partner as part of a cross functional team to lead and execute smaller to moderately complex projects to ensure a successful launch. Ensure projects are executed on time, within quality guidelines and within budget.

§  Work with research and development, the external design team or the vendor to ensure that new products are developed on time and meet cost, quality and margin requirements. May work closely with international teams to ensure that new products meet international market requirements where applicable.

§  Collaborate with marketing and sales teams to ensure marketing collateral and resources align with overall product objectives.

§  Provide communication related to product development performance against objectives. Establish and maintain relationships within the business unit and throughout the organization that enhance the achievement of product line objectives.

§  Collaborate with marketing and sales leadership to effectively target consumers and deliver the product to the market to maximize profits.

§  Participate in the planning process of long range growth plans and shorter term competitive strategy for the product line(s).

 

What you need to succeed:

§  Bachelor’s Degree in marketing, business administration or equivalent job experience.

§  Typically requires a minimum of 3 years of product experience which includes performing managing projects from conception to launch, product research and product positioning to successfully and profitability launch products to market.

§  Skills and ability to successfully implement a project plan. Demonstrated project management skills from product conception to launch which includes researching market practices to support the development of innovative, profitable products and successfully bringing the product to market.

§  Excellent written and verbal communication skills to collaborate effectively with cross functional internal teams and external vendors.

§  Knowledge of brand and business management basics, product positioning and packaging.
