Finance Analyst

The Simms organization is growing and we’re looking to fill the position of Finance Analyst. This is a full-time, in-house position based in Bozeman, Montana.

In this role, you will assist in maintaining complete and accurate financial records, work closely with all members of the finance and accounting teams and report to the Accounting Manager. 

Duties of this role include:

 

Ø You will work closely with the product team biannually to prepare a complete and accurate product costing plan that will be used by purchasing and planning to drive inventory purchasing decisions.

Ø On a monthly basis, you will complete an analysis of actual inventory costs compared to plan.  Any variances from plan should be addressed timely and communicated to the necessary parties.

Ø You will assist the accounting team in the monthly close process.  This will entail the timely and accurate completion of reconciliations and analytics on select balance sheet accounts, such as Accounts Payable, Fixed Assets, Excise Tax and Inventory.

Ø You will provide support for recurring (monthly, quarterly and annual) regulatory and compliance activities such as Annual Financial Statement Audit, Banking and Tax compliance.  This will include preparing supporting documentation, performing analyses on account balances and filing reports within deadlines (Royalties; B&O, Excise, Pesticide Taxes, Corporate Annual Reports).

Ø You will also be supporting the Finance Team with ad hoc analytical support focused on specific business issues and challenges.  A successful candidate will dive into these challenges with a curious mindset to assist in identifying solutions and areas for improvement.

 

Successful candidates should possess:

Ø Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting or other relevant course of study

Ø 1-2 years of relevant experience with proven success

Ø Strong communication skills

Ø Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Ø Attention to detail

Ø Curious mindset
