Production Manager

He/she will create an environment of continuous improvement, quality, and innovation, in collaboration with the product and operations teams, and will ultimately be accountable for top and bottom-line goals for wader manufacturing.12.0pt;background:white'> 12.0pt;background:white'>He/she will lead a highly engaged, purpose driven and collaborative manufacturing team, producing the highest quality waders in the world while meeting safety, delivery, and cost goals.   The Production Manager ensures that Simms is an employer of choice in the Gallatin Valley, anticipating and navigating through changes in the overall labor market.12.0pt;background:white'> 12.0pt;background:white'> 

Key Responsibilities and Priorities:

Manages wader production to meet safety, quality, delivery, and cost goals.   

Creates an engaged culture through a combination of building trust, fostering teamwork, earning respect, and holding people accountable.

Works with the Director of Operations to implement production capacity, equipment, and staffing plans.

Maintains a great safety record by participating in safety programs.

Coordinates with Product Development on starting production of new products on the factory floor.

Supports efforts and participates in improving processes, quality, workflow, methods, training, efficiency & safety.

Provides and maintains a safe, clean, organized, and well-maintained work environment.  

Ensures the timely and efficient production of waders & accessories.

Participates in and promotes team involvement in company events. Also engages with Senior Leadership to bring team activity ideas for consideration.

=         Safety. Experienced with OSHA safety standards. Promotes a safe work environment, promptly resolves safety issues, takes a proactive approach to safety on the factory floor.

Key Performance Indicators:

=         Productivity Index:  R-80%, G-100%, SG-105%

=         Quality (30-day Returns for Manufacturing Defects):  R-3, G-1, SG-0

=         Wader Production Schedule (actual vs. plan):  R-98%, G-100%, SG-101%

=         Trailing 12-month Turnover:  R->30%, G-20-25%, SG-<20%

=         Safety (accidents or near-misses/Qtr):  R-1 accident, G-0 accidents, SG-+ safety improvement implemented

Successful Candidates Should Possess:

=         Robust leadership expertise & managerial experience

=         Experience building teams and increasing employee engagement

=         Strong communication skills

=         Planning and problem-solving experience & expertise

=         Process-driven attitude

=         Experience at leading change

=         Minimum 5 years’ experience in successfully managing a production operation

=         Bachelor’s degree
