Retail Manager

Store Manager 

ReRack is looking for a passionate, team oriented, people person to lead our retail team and manage our shop located in the central eastside of Portland, OR. 

This position is hands-on and will include leading by example. Expectation will be to take part in daily activities from consulting with customers and assisting on installations to breaking down cardboard and unloading delivery trucks.

The ideal candidate is able to work in a high paced environment; employ strong organizational skills; have a drive toward team /community building by supporting colleagues and staff; and attain satisfaction through customer engagement. Additionally, a personal connection to the outdoors through hobbies and previous experiences is expected. Higher education focus in Communications, Business administration, Environmental Sociology, or similar is highly desired. Some familiarity with the Portland Metro area is of benefit.

Job Details:

• Manage Sales and Installation staff

• Train, motivate, mentor and provide feedback to store staff

• Maintain staff schedule

• Lead team meetings

• Make recommendations for hiring

• Oversee on site projects & facilities maintenance

• Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with Inventory Manager

• Coordinate with the customer service department

• Regular direct communication with other Managers

• Optimize profitability and meet sales goals

• Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction through excellent service

Job Requirements:

• Proficiency with Google software, social media

• Advanced understanding of computers, networking & tech

• De-escalation / Conflict resolution

• Leadership ability

• Multi-tasking

• Organizational ability (incl. delegation)

• Critical thinking

• 2-4 years' experience in sporting goods or automotive fields

• Prior staff management skills

• Strong communication skills

• Strong organizational skills 

• Attention to detail

• Associates or higher education preferred, equivalent experience considered

This is a year round full time position and is available currently. Pay is subject to prior experience.
