Job Description & Requirements
RESERVATIONS MANAGER
PAY: 18/hr with possibility of year round salary
You will work alongside our operations manager at our retail store just outside of Zion National Park (Springdale UT) with a staff of 20 and help serve hundreds of visitors each week. Also, you will help manage reservations, permitting, sales of trips, oversee our reservation system, update/ monitor products within our reservation system and help with staff education. Year-round employment with extended off-season vacation time. Competitive wages. You will also be asked to audit/shadow all of the trips we offer to help your understanding of the client experience. (Example: Rock climbing, Canyoneering, Guided scenic hike and Guided Zion narrows tour.
Duties:
Coordinate with fellow reservation staff and outfitters for reservation details and processes
Telephone and email protocol development and enhancement
Trip bookings
Shuttle bookings
VIP Guest services
Trip Auditing
Work with other managers to achieve better workflow, staff wellness and profitability
Email replies
Voicemail replies
Educated in outdoor ethics, great public speaker, detail oriented, interested in helping others, ... Retail sales of trips, events, and rental equipment. Proficiency in email etiquette and reservation systems.
Interpersonal skills – patience, a good listening ear, and confident communication are important skills a reservation manager must rely on while assisting customers
Organization skills – reservation managers usually manage large amounts of customer information and should be able to easily keep track of everything
Technological proficiency – the duties of the reservation manager are carried out on the phone or on the computer, and those in the role should be comfortable with using technology
Memorization – the reservation manager is expected to have an in-depth knowledge of adventure products offered, along with a working understanding of the surrounding area
Patience – work as a reservation manager can include some stressful situations with a variety of customers, and the reservation manager is expected to remain calm and pleasant no matter the situation
Familiar with Zion and southwest Utah, excited about climbing, canyoneering, and hiking. Flexible, committed, and able to work year-round.
Our company is Zion Guru, owned and operated by Jonathan Zambella, who has been successfully outfitting the Zion Narrows and guiding canyoneering tours in southwest Utah for over 22 years. We are currently hiring 8 x Outfitting positions and 1 x Reservation Manager, starting Feb 2021, Our future employees would be tasked with assisting clients with hiking and tour information as well as renting them appropriate equipment for their self-guided hike of the Virgin River Narrows. We are located in Springdale, Utah, a quarter mile from ZNP. Zion sees 4.3 million visitors each year and is still growing in visitation.
