Bicycle Service Manager

Ventura Bike Depot, Inc. has been involved with the bicycle industry since 1984 in one form or another. The love of bikes and people meet each other here and we are proud to be voted #1 Bike Store in Ventura because of our friendly support to our customers and one another.

We have plenty of variety within our store and feature a complete repair shop, using all the best bike specific tools, power lift stations at each bike stand and custom spoke threading machine, electric bike software firmware.

Duties and Responiblities:

• Maintain workflow of service department, managing and motivating service staff
• Establish and maintain service department policies and procedures for managing work schedule, warranties and maintaining shop supplies.
• Ensure that proper safety practices are being followed.
• Provide training to mechanics as needed.
• Help maintain a positive work environment

Education/Experience:

• Minimum of 2 years retail experience
• Minimum of 3 years professional bicycle mechanic experience.

Skills and Traits:

• Outgoing, enthusiastic, sociable, gregarious
• Excellent mechanical skills: Especially desirable if experienced with suspension rebuilds and wheel building
• Strong verbal communication skills: Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions.

Ability to work in a dynamic, multi-functional, multi-cultural environment.

Physical Demands:

• Able to sit or stand and walk throughout the scheduled work shift.
• Must be able to perform the essential functions of this job, reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform these essential functions.

• Able to lift and/or move up to 75 lbs.

We are open 7 days a week and flexible with our work shifts. Nothing over 8 hours and you always get a lunch break.

Pay: $40,000.00 - $50,000.00 per year
