About Us:

OROS creates scientifically advanced insulated apparel for adventure-seeking minimalists.

At OROS, we believe in giant leaps. We took a futuristic approach to an age-old problem: How do we stay warm in the elements? We make better cold-weather gear through our proprietary insulation technology, originally developed by NASA for outer space, and perfected by the OROS R&D team for planet Earth. The result is minimal, stylish, and hard-working layers enable distraction-free exploration, and a deeper connection with people, places, and experiences.

OROS began as an idea scribbled on a napkin of founders Rithvik Venna & Michael Markesbery. In his sophomore year at college, Michael had the insight that changed everything while summiting tallest mountain in the Northeast Swiss Alps, bundled in restrictive layers. He thought, “There has to be a way to cut the bulk and layers, and still stay warm.” As a science geek pre-med, Michael was awarded a NASA Astronaut Scholarship and through the Scholarship, Michael learned about aerogel, this material that NASA used to insulate the Mars Rovers in space. From there, the vision for OROS was born. Rith and Michael lead the OROS team in developing the technology that addresses consumer’s needs. Forbes describes OROS as the brand “where science meets the apparel market” and “A revolution in staying fashionably warm”.

People don’t work at OROS to play it safe. They come to swim in the deep end. They want their work to add up to something. Something big. Something that couldn’t happen anywhere else.

OROS thrives on a culture of innovation, and a team made up of fun, hardworking individuals that live and breathe the brand ethos of Find Your Beyond.
