Adventure Coordinator

Are you a creative individual and self-starter who loves the outdoors and travel?   Join us at Deep Creek Outdoor and get in on the ground level of a growing business.  Deep Creek Outdoor is an outdoor retail and activity coordination business located at Chico Hot Springs.  We are passionate about experiences that last a lifetime, and great products that enrich those experiences.

The ideal candidate is positive and outgoing, with a willingness to learn and take initiative, and with a mix of outdoor recreation experience and customer service skills.  You should have a passion for outdoor products and activities, and be excited to share that knowledge with customers.  We receive a wide variety of customers ranging from tourists to adventure seekers, so having a broad knowledge of recreation opportunities and good communication skills is important.

This position can serve as a great stepping stone into the outdoor guiding industry as we work closely with a wide variety of guiding companies.  You will communicate often with guides and learn about the industry and how they have created jobs out of their passions.  

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS, DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Activity Coordination

• Learn the details of each activity provided by preferred providers

• Communicate activity options, prices, and details to customers

• Reserve outdoor activities with our preferred outdoor guiding companies

• Recommend local trails, fishing access sites, and fun things to do in the area

Retail:

• Manage inventory and incoming product

• Learn technical aspects of product and brands

• Aid in merchandising

• Keep the shop clean and organized

• Open and close the store

• Help customers with sales and returns

QUALIFICATIONS

• Comprehensive and fast computer skills with the ability to learn new software

• Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously

• A self-starter that identifies needs and executes independently

• Excellent communication skills

• Willingness to ask lots of questions to learn information
