Position Purpose

Report to the VP of International Sales to support initiatives that advance the overall goals and strategies of the Company with respect to export sales, marketing, and product management.  Operate with a broad understanding of the international sportfishing tackle industry as it relates customer relationships, export order flow management and execution.  

Attendance & Schedule

Consistent and regular in-office (Denver, CO) attendance is required.  The person in this position must be able to work a minimum of 40 hours per week.

Required Knowledge/Skills & Experience

·       College degree and/or 5+ years’ experience in similar role (required)

·       Proficiency in Spanish (required)

·       Experience working in the outdoor recreation industry (required)

·       Knowledge of sport fishing (preferred)

·       Advance Excel knowledge and proficiency in other Microsoft applications (required)

·       Knowledge of Oracle applications (preferred) 

·       Detail-oriented self-starter with good organizational skills.

·       Ability to communicate and work with people in a professional manner both orally and through written communications.

 

Essential Duties

·       Execute strategies that facilitate departmental improvements that affect the overall flow of Company’s export business, working in parallel with other departments such as order entry, production planning, warehouse, and shipping.

·       Provide internal and external sales support to export growth regions and accounts (i.e., Mexico, Latin America, Caribbean) and execute strategic projects and initiatives as they relate to key customers.

·       Assist VP of Intl. Sales and the product and marketing division with new item development and marketing initiatives for export markets

·       Provide logistical support including evaluation of freight forwarders; soliciting and approving quotations and managing tracking of outbound freight and commercial documentation.   

·       Improve department processes around customer database, order flow reporting and export shipping procedures.

·       Provide backup support to export department colleagues as needed.  

·       Travel to industry trade exhibitions, distributors shows, and customer visits as needed

OTHER DUTIES

·       Provide input to regular department meetings.

·       Observe and practice all safety and housekeeping rules and regulations of the Department and/or the Company, such as keeping the office and all office furniture, equipment supplies and other material in a neat and safe manner, so the office is functional and efficient.

·       Assist with special projects as needed.  

 

Physical Environment & Working Conditions

·       Must be able to travel internationally and within the U.S., as required.   

·       Must be able to work and remain focused on detail in an open office environment where other department phone and business conversations are a part of the environment.

·       Must have the physical ability to understand and communicate effectively via telephone, email, and fax methods.

·       Must be able sit at a PC and perform computer functions for up to 90% of a 10-hour workday.

·       Must be able to lift 30-50 lbs. to move product on an occasional basis.  Particularly when attending and setting-up for trade shows

·       Must be able to walk, stand, stoop, reach, and bend and lift when asked to work at tradeshows and other duties.

·       Must have the physical ability to walk in and around the production facility as a part of executing essential duties of the position.
