Job Description & Requirements

Adventure travel company running multi-day raft trips through Grand Canyon seeks a professional, quick-learning reservationist/customer experience specialist to work either in our Phoenix or Flagstaff office.

Qualified candidates will possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, collaborate daily with other members of the Reservations Team to provide a seamless customer experience, maintain a positive attitude and demonstrate empathy in stressful situations, prioritize daily duties, and switch quickly and efficiently between multiple tasks and communication platforms. We seek a detail-oriented person who will be able to quickly learn the nuanced logistics of multiple types of Grand Canyon rafting trips and provide an excellent customer experience.

Primary duties are answering specific and sometimes repetitive questions via phone and email, ensuring guest registration forms and payments are received on time, communicating guest information to our operations team, keeping detailed records of customer interactions, following up on leads, and making reservations. Additional duties can include but are not limited to data entry, writing blogs, critiquing our website, and proofing external communications to ensure our guests have the best possible information.

Preferred experience: We use online systems for bookings, invoicing, etc. For this reason, we need someone who is computer savvy and can manage multiple systems simultaneously. An ideal candidate will be comfortable using Google Workspace (docs, sheets, etc.), Gmail, shared communication platforms, and task managers. In order to understand our trips, on-the-job training can include participation in one of our week-long Grand Canyon rafting trips as soon as possible.

Work culture: We understand the desire for work-life balance. We currently have eight employees. As a small, seasonally-focused business, we provide more flexibility with vacation time than in many office settings.

Position type & hours: Full-time. Our office hours are 8:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. Monday-Friday. Once training is complete, there will be an element of on-call periods during the rafting season (April-October).

Great benefits include paid vacation, employer-paid health insurance, and a 401k with annual employer contributions (up to 15% of salary).

Applicants must submit a cover letter in addition to a resume in our Indeed job listing. Applications will be accepted until the position is filled. We prefer someone to start as soon as possible but can be somewhat flexible for the right candidate.
