Outside Sales Representative – Territory Manager, (New England Preferred)

Reports to: Sales Manager

VOmax, a division of GDMC, LLC, is a leading global manufacturer of high-performance cycling, running, Nordic, and triathlon apparel. Located just off the Norwottuck Rail Trail in Northampton, MA, the company designs and custom manufactures a line of specialty products for its customers (teams, clubs, organizations, and individuals) and products under its own brand. Focused on the rapidly growing segments of the athletic market, VOmax merges the skills of its in-house graphics and product designers with the latest fabric and printing technologies to deliver the highest quality performance products to its customers.  The Outside Sales Rep. will interface directly with customers, with a particular focus on placing VOmax products into retail locations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Serve existing customers and grow geographic and customer footprint with expanding product offerings
  • Aggressively expand VOmax retail line into brick and mortar and online retail establishments
  • Handle all sales related tasks from prospecting to closing deals with retailers, individuals, organizations and clubs
  • Visit retail accounts to conduct product launches and staff training
  • Commit to understand customer needs with a passion to deliver excellence
  • Initiate event based telephonic and e-mail communication with existing and prospective customers 
  • Develop accurate sales forecasts by product category for optimal production needs
  • Work closely with Customer Service Managers to ensure seamless handling of numerous details related to providing world-class customer service to existing and new client base
  • Communicate effectively with VOmax internal departments regarding artwork, production needs, delivery dates, payment processes, re-orders, special requests, advertising funding, promotions, etc.
  • Work closely with product design and development team to convey latest industry trends, product performance needs, market trends, and competition status
  • Attend trade shows to present the VOmax retail line
  • Travel as required

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of sports and technical performance apparel
  • Proven track record of prospecting into and selling to global brands, purchasing groups, licenses, and retail
  • Proven history of building brand awareness and bringing in profitable territory sales revenue
  • Ability to work with customer product development, design, merchandising, product and sales managers to introduce new products
  • Understanding the discovery aspect of selling, business analytics, and methods of presenting value business model solutions related to the company

Personal Qualifications

  • Minimum 4-year college degree
  • Actively participation in one of the sports that VOmax serves
  • Broad understanding of regional and national market trends
  • Self motivated, confident, positive, and organized individual with 3+ years sales experience
  • Enthusiastic and passionate with strong work ethics
  • Skillful relationship builder
  • Adept at understanding sales cycle and proficient at handling and overcoming standard objections to close a sale primarily via telephone.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Windows Office Suite software: MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint
