Outdoorplay was founded by John 'Tree' Trujillo in 1995. The business started as a one man kayak school based out of his garage, and was focused on delivering world class customer service, instruction and expertise. Outdoorplay quickly grew a loyal customer base in the Northwest and developed into a thriving outdoor retail operation located in Hood River, Oregon. When we went online in 1998, Outdoorplay became a national presence, and the rest is history!Today the company is still run by the original founder, supported by a core team of enthusiastic employees, and we're now one of the largest specialty outdoor gear retailers in the country.
