Company Description

For Love of Children (FLOC) is a 501(c)(3), community-based nonprofit organization in Washington, DC.  Since 1965, FLOC has created innovative programs that address the needs of our city’s most vulnerable children and families.  For Love of Children's mission is to give young children and high-risk youth the opportunity to succeed through a continuum of educational services that will prepare them with the skills necessary to become life-long learners and contributing members of their communities.  Through example and partnership, For Love of Children will use education to empower young people and their families to close society's advantage gap and break the cycle of poverty.

For Love of Children’s Outdoor Education Center facilitates healthy character development for youth and adults through adventure challenges, environmental education, and sustainability practices in a powerful outdoor classroom where experiential learning inspires individual potential and leads participants toward discovering connections between the natural world and their communities.

This wilderness site offers a unique setting for a powerful learning laboratory. People are able to step outside their comfort zones and discover their untapped potential while still feeling safe and supported, which truly allows individuals to grow and learn.
