Wilderness Inquiry (WI) is a non-profit organization that focuses on getting people from all walks of life to personally experience the natural world. We believe there is nothing like being there to fully appreciate the environment and the people we share it with. We strive to include anyone who wants to experience wild places. Since 1978 we have served over 150,000 people, including many who have disabilities or otherwise do not fit the "wilderness traveler" stereotype. Over the years we've found that a person's attitude - their desire to go - is the single most important factor in determining their success. Our trips are usually integrated to include older people, younger people, people with disabilities, veterans, accountants, physicians, people who live in the city and people who live in rural areas. Both novices and experienced backcountry travelers participate. It's the unique mix of people and places that makes each WI trip a special experience.
