Job Description & Requirements

As an Inside Sales Representative, you will collaborate closely with Santa Cruz Bicycles retailers and our Outside Sales Team to coordinate bikes sales and fulfillment in your territory. You will work in a team-oriented environment with dedicated and passionate riders who have no problem creating long-lasting relationships with their colleagues and their clients alike. This role requires effective communication as well as an ability to develop sales tactics and work at a high level while executing and prioritizing requests quickly and successfully.

 

We are looking for someone who has experience in the outdoor industry (bike industry preferred) and understands how to successfully partner with people from all walks of life. We need a solid communicator who responds quickly and clearly. You will need to know how to work on multiple projects at a time and have experience with reaching goals and other performance metrics.

Overall Duties and Responsibilities include the following (other duties may be assigned):

  1. Collaborate with Santa Cruz Bicycles and Juliana Bicycle bike retailers within your territory to order bikes, confirm shipping dates, track shipments and provide constant updates on all logistics
  2. Successfully reach your sales and booking targets while sustainably growing sales in your territory
  3. Identify sales opportunities, communicate to the Inside Sales team, and pursue in accordance with the set seasonal priority
  4. Communicate regularly to the Outside Sales reps in your territory to connect on targets, supply them with any needed materials and enter orders
  5. Maintain a high level of customer service to everyone you partner with to reach your targets
  6. Provide guidance and insight on territory sales trends, challenges, and opportunities
  7. Visit sales territory to identify opportunities and solidify relationships
  8. Work closely with the Inside Sales Manager and Forecasting team to analyze territory sales and allocation reports
  9. Execute events and deadlines based on the territory calendar in relation to, but not limited to: demo events, dealer visits, key sales dates and milestones
  10. Work closely with the Accounts Receivable team to balance credit and clear holds to ensure shipments are flowing as needed
  11. Update Santa Cruz Bicycles website dealer information for given region
  12. Act professionally at all times, you will be representing Santa Cruz Bicycles

Competencies and Requirements:

  1. 2+ years of experience in the bicycle or outdoor industry
  2. Proven success managing and prioritizing multiple client accounts
  3. Ability to communicate professionally, clearly and concisely with co-workers and clients
  4. Strong computer skills, experience with ERP software, Gmail, Microsoft Office and CRM software
  5. Extensive knowledge of bicycles and all associated parts
  6. High level of urgency and ability to start and complete projects within the stated parameters
  7. Ability to collaborate and work professionally with co-workers and clients
  8. Superior ability to prioritize and manage your time
  9. Ability to develop professional and long-lasting relationships with clients
  10. Driven to identify meaningful solutions which fulfill the needs for SCB, sales territory, sales reps, retailers, and end consumers
  11. Must have a current Driver’s License and a clean driving record
  12. Comfortable with travel

Language Skills: Ability to read and comprehend and explain documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals in English. Effectively communicate, verbally and in writing, in English.

Education and/or Experience:  2+ years of experience in the bicycle or outdoor industry, excellent  communication skills
