CLOTHING DEPARTMENT HEAD - RETAIL

The Clothing and Kids' Department Head is a full-time retail floor position responsible for the merchandising of product and training of staff in OGE's Clothing Department. They collaborate with the Clothing Team (Clothing Department Manager and Buyers), sharing responsibility for the department as a whole.

AREAS OF OVERSIGHT:

• Customer Service: Providing the highest level of customer service within the department
• Merchandising: Ensuring the department is properly merchandised to retail and OGE standards (product and signage), and consistently conveying this vision to floor staff
• Training: Developing guidelines and materials for all Clothing Staff training, and implementing that training within the department
• Backstocking and Product Management: Making sure all new seasonal product reaches the floor in a timely manner, and properly utilizing Warehouse and Inventory Control Team (ICT) procedures for product management and backstocking

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Providing expert-level knowledge in the department as well as additional coverage for lunches, tent sales, sale/holiday backup coverage, and other impromptu department needs
• Communicating sales floor feedback from customer interactions and about product selection to the Clothing Department Manager and Buyers
• Implementing seasonal changeovers under the direction of the Director of Floor Sales and Clothing Department Manager
• Overseeing picking, monitoring of product levels, and backstocking during our tent sales
• Providing informal and formal clinics (product education) to new and veteran staff. Communicating with managers about any follow-up staff training needs and providing written follow-ups directly to staff

QUALIFIED CANDIDATES MUST MEET THE FOLLOWING CRITERIA:

• A high level of knowledge of the clothing products we carry, and a high-level understanding of the layout of our Clothing Department
• Outstanding customer relations and knowledge of the outdoors
• Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written)
