Summary/Objective
The Senior Director of Global Performance Marketing will be responsible for developing and ensuring proper execution of performance marketing strategies across Ruffwear’s global markets (e-commerce, direct-to-consumer, wholesale retail, and omnichannel) that align with our strategic goals to drive demand, brand awareness, and revenue growth. The ideal candidate will also be responsible for creating a seamless consumer journey throughout the entire funnel by analyzing the data to inform the proper creative necessary by tactic to keep consumers engaged along the way. This position reports to the Chief Marketing Officer and partners cross-functionally with the Brand Marketing, Creative, Sales, IT and Finance teams.
Position Requirements
- Develop and execute comprehensive digital marketing strategies to drive customer acquisition, engagement, brand awareness, and revenue growth across global markets and selling channels in partnership.
- Define clear performance metrics and KPIs aligned with global brand and business goals by partnering with key selling channel stakeholders.
- Develop and lead Amazon performance marketing strategies and manage the Amazon Channel team.
- Continuously evaluate global market trends, competitor strategies, and customer insights to refine and enhance digital marketing efforts.
- Develop and manage the digital marketing budget, ensuring effective allocation of resources and alignment with ROI and channel revenue targets.
- Manage external performance agency partners globally to ensure they are meeting the brand’s KPIs and revenue goals as well as creating full transparency of strategy changes throughout the year.
- Implement A/B testing and data-driven optimization strategies across funnel tactics to maximize ROI and conversion rates across selling channels.
- Utilize analytics tools and platforms to track and analyze digital marketing performance, providing regular reporting and insights to key stakeholders.
- Collaborate closely with the Marketing team, internal stakeholders, and external partners (e.g. public relations, international distributors, and performance marketing agencies), to align digital marketing strategies with overall business objectives.

Work Hours
Early morning and/or evening hours are required to work with team members and partners in different time zones.

Occasional domestic and international travel (3-4 times per year) may be required to attend company-sponsored events and meetings.
Required Education and Experience
- 12+ years of experience in digital marketing, with a focus on performance marketing and customer acquisition strategies.
- 5+ years of experience hiring, managing, and developing both individual contributors and people leaders.
- Strong leadership skills and experience managing distributed, international teams.
- Deep understanding of digital marketing channels, analytics tools (e.g. Google Analytics, Adobe Analytics), and marketing automation platforms.
- Demonstrated success in developing and executing digital marketing strategies, managing large-scale digital marketing budgets, and achieving ROI targets to deliver business results.
- Strategic thinker with the ability to see the big picture while also paying attention to details.
- Strong communication and presentation skills to influence and collaborate effectively with senior executives and stakeholders.
- Excellent analytical skills and the ability to interpret complex data sets to drive actionable insights and recommendations.
- Experience working with Shopify Plus, NetSuite ERP, Klaviyo, Attentive, SEMRush, and Meta.
- Advanced proficiency in Amazon Seller Central and e-commerce platform management.
- Passion for dogs and first-hand understanding of the interactive bond between canines and humans.
Preferred Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Experience in the outdoor, apparel, and/or consumer products industry.
- Passion for the outdoors.
Expectations within the First Year:
- Take over Amazon US Performance Marketing to help Ruffwear realize 2H Budget w/potential of +10%
- Analyze our Global Performance Budget to key KPIs and find efficiencies to save dollars and/or realize a larger Revenue return in 2H and beyond into 2025
- Audit current performance agencies in 2H for optimal partnerships to help us win Brand Awareness/Driving Demand as well as Revenue across channels
- Relieve ≥ 15% of CMO’s time to focus on strategies and tactics to help realize our 2H 2024 revenue targets across channels and 2025 budget/strategy planning

*Compensation
In the spirit of pay transparency, we're excited to share the expected base salary for this role is currently $180,000 (exclusive of fringe benefits & potential bonuses). If you are hired at Ruffwear, your final base salary will be determined based on factors such as workplace location, job-related skills and competencies, experience, as well as education and training. In addition to those factors, Ruffwear also considers internal equity of current Pack members as part of any final offer.
Total cash compensation is contingent on targeted company performance achievement and individual attainment of performance goals. Therefore, target total cash is not guaranteed and may vary annually.
