Compensation and Schedule

Regional Lead Gudies are based within a 1-2 hour radius of their assigned guiding area. The role typically involves 3-4 field days per week, which includes allocated hours for trip preparation and clean-up. Field days are consistent unless assigned to multi-day or specialty tours. This is a salary, non-exempt position, with overtime opportunities approved as needed. Work hours include time in the field, driving company vehicles, trip preparation, gear maintenance, administrative duties, and other assigned tasks.

Full Time Guides are based within a 1-2 hour radius of their assigned guiding area. The role typically involves 3-4 field days per week, which includes allocated hours for trip preparation and clean-up. Field days are consistent unless assigned to multi-day or specialty tours. This is an hourly, non-exempt position, with overtime opportunities approved as needed. Work hours include time in the field, driving company vehicles, trip preparation, gear maintenance, administrative duties, and other assigned tasks.

Roles and Responsibilities

Pre-trip: Client communication Conditions and park information review Vehicle and gear pick up Shopping for supplies, meal prep Emergency protocol review On trip: Client pick up and transportation in 15 passenger van or SUV Lead day tours or multi-day trips with groups of varying sizes. Our tours are naturalist-focused and often include a prepared picnic lunch on day tours, and multiple meals on multi-day tours. Multi-day trips also require group management, skill instruction, and adapting to changing conditions. Post-trip: Clean and return gear Repair, report, and make a plan for fixing any damaged gear Clean and return vehicle Post-trip paperwork including recap, submitting expenses, and vehicle and gear check in Post-trip client check in Ongoing: If not working in the field during a work day, you may also be asked to assist your regional lead with occasional vehicle and gear maintenance and inventory as well as social media content generation Prompt communication with office and local team via email and slack Attend and assist with annual regional guide training (held in Spring in most locations) Attend monthly remote guide trainings Keep consistent boundaries on days off to maintain strong physical and mental health Provide ongoing constructive feedback to our team to help our company grow. Requirements

Below certifications completed by start date (Good Trip will assist with obtaining once hired): Wilderness First Responder or higher (valid for duration of 2025) CPR (valid for duration of 2025) Leave No Trace Awareness ServSafe Food Handler DOT Physical Background Check Valid US Driver’s License Strong communication skills. Full time guides are expected to be responsive to emails and active on the guide slack channel. Strong time management skills to keep up with trip needs, prompt reporting, and client communications.
